To all our Members, Parents, and Supporters of Wanstead RFC.
On behalf of the Management Committee I would like to give an update on our response to the COVID-19 pandemic particularly the Omicron variant.
As always, we will adapt and adjust our response to the virus in coordination with government and RFU guidelines as the situation evolves. Our response will be to ensure the health and safety of all those who utilise the club either playing or in social capacity.
As I write this there are no changes to participation and adult rugby and age grade rugby is permitted with no set restrictions on how many people can take part both indoors and outdoors. But I would ask all that are participating to follow the latest guidelines.
This weekend’s members lunch on the 18th December and the Mini's Christmas party on the 19th December will still go ahead but we ask all those that attend to carry out a lateral flow test on the day and if you do have any symptoms then you should not attend as It is still possible to catch and spread COVID-19, even if you are fully vaccinated. All contacts of suspected Omicron cases must self-isolate, regardless of vaccination status.
We are also advising that anyone with a weakened immune system or with any underlying health issues to not attend the Club.
I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the management committee to thank you all for your continued support and to wish you a safe, healthy and happy Christmas.
