Tony Romano

With sadness I have to tell you that Tony Romano died yesterday following a chest infection and pneumonia. Tony was just 54 and leaves his wife Alex and daughter Tara. Our sincere condolences and thoughts go them and their family.

Tony first played for the club in 1987 and rapidly became a 1st team regular. He was a very talented prop and surprisingly mobile considering he was then some 18 stone. He could play either side but preferred tight head. Later life was not kind to Tony, and he developed diabetes and then MS. Sadly, Tony had been bed bound for some years, cared for by Alex and his passing finally released him from further suffering.

Rest in peace Tony

Mike Calvert, President
