Welcome the New Wanstead RFC Website!

The old Pitchero web site has served us well for many years but for a number of reasons we have decided to move.

  • The Pitchero site had over time become further and further out of date. The new web site is supplied by the RFU and the crucial information like registered players, team roles and membership is instantly available. With Pitchero we had to double-enter data which was too much of a time burden and wasn't getting done. Now all information is directly taken from our RFU GMS database and is as up to date as the club is. Fixtures and players also come direct from the RFU fixtures and electronic game management system.
  • Membership had drifted so far out that it didn't really reflect the club as it is now, and membership fees were not being collected from many people who enjoy the facilities and benefits of the club and it's grounds. A lot of work has been done on this recently and we are getting close to being fully up-to-date.  If you are still paying using the Pitchero direct debit or standing orders please help us by switching, using the membership link in this site.  We don't ask for much in the way of subs but we do expect everyone to pay.
  • The look and feel of the old site had got complicated and messy, it also was saturated with adverts despite us paying a fee to use it, there is no fee for the new site and no adverts.

We hope you like the new site and it gives you all the information you need about the club. The old site will be available for some time if you wish to save any old photo's or articles, it can accessed using this link, and news items are available from our twitter feed (although many links may now be broken).

Many thanks to Jason De Sousa for customising the site, and everyone who has and will help us keep things up-to-date like Martin Curry and Nobby.
