Dear Parents,

As some of you may be aware the club is starting a huge development of ours grounds which once completed will give us some of the most impressive facilities in West Essex/East London.

The works consist of levelling the ground and construction of 2 full size RFU pitches that will both be floodlight, we will also have a number of junior pitches that will all be constructed to a high standard with primary and secondary drainage and a fully automated irrigation system. We will also be adding a balcony to the club house that will overlook the pitches.

The works are scheduled to commence on the 5th of October and be completed ready for the start of the 2021 season in September

The implications of this is that we lose the use of the field where the clubhouse is situated for the next twelve months. Luckily we have managed to secure a lease on Wensleydale playing fields the field adjacent to the clubhouse across the road.

We plan for all minis rugby to use this field, there is the obvious hazard of crossing the road so therefore we ask that all parents be vigilant and help take charge of your own children and also help guide the teams and assist coaches in mustering players and crossing the road together.

We are all extremely excited about this redevelopment being completed and the future looks bright at Wanstead RFC. All we ask is to be cautious moving around the site during works and take responsibility for your children.

We are also looking to recruit a crossing attendant that will ensure people are safely crossing the road from and to the club between the hours of 0900-1200. This will be a paid role, If you are interested please contact me on 07950 405313 for more details.

Regards

James Cull

Chairman
